Features
Our French Linen Riviera Shirt is made in Japan, using a light weight, breathable linen fabric with a silky finish, making it perfect for spring/summer weather.
It is an ode to the French holiday spirit, with the linen being grown in Northern France and the design inspired by the 50s lifestyle of the Hollywood elite meandering in the French Riviera.
It boasts a beautifully crafted one piece collar, giving the shirt a clean finish and achieving a wonderful collar roll under tailoring.
The one-piece collar is a refined design crafted from a single piece of fabric, seamlessly extending down from the collar to the front of the shirt to form the placket (rather than being stitched together like in a conventionally made shirt).
What elevates the one-piece collar is its graceful, continuous flow. Unlike conventional collars, which rely on a collar band, the absence of a collar band allows the collar to naturally curve with a luxurious, elegant “roll”, rather than a sharp fold.
This sophisticated construction requires exceptional craftsmanship and the expertise of a skilled pattern maker, making the one-piece collar a hallmark of only the finest made shirts.
In line with our philosophy of bringing the world’s finest quality garments to you, our French linen riviera shirt encapsulates the very best of French luxury combined with Japanese precision.
The linen fabric is made using only the longest linen fibres, grown in the Normandy region of France. This climate ensures that the linen material has a lustre and luxury hand feel whilst enabling maximum breathability, ensuring that your skin stays fresh in hot weather.
The shirt is then crafted in Japan by makers who are renowned for their steadfast commitment to the finest of details and fit.
The shirt is designed slightly roomier for a relaxed fit, in keeping with the holiday mood that the riviera shirt is intended to encourage. Having said that, its darker shades of navy and dark olive coupled with the linen’s clean, sleek finish also make the shirt sober enough for more formal city settings worn with smart trousers and a jacket.
Smoke coloured mother of pearl buttons to match the darker shades of navy and dark olive.

Unrivalled Quality
We are confident in bringing you the world's finest garments because we only use the very best at every stage of manufacture:
Quality of fabric: 100% linen made using only the longest linen fibres, grown in the Normandy region of France. This climate ensures that the linen material has a lustre and luxury hand feel whilst enabling maximum breathability, ensuring that your skin stays fresh in hot weather.
Quality of make: the riviera shirt is assembled by a renowned shirt maker in Japan that has been crafting the finest shirts for several decades. Like many Japanese garment makers, they champion heritage European techniques and take them to the next level. Their specialty, the one piece collar, is one such example. Their commitment to precision, especially in the area of fit, is second to none. They are known to be dedicated to refining the smallest of details to improve comfort for the wearer, above and beyond that of an ordinary garment maker.
Garment Care
Fabric Characteristics:
The linen fabric will come with some small slubs. This is the linen’s natural characteristic, and is intended to add to the “lived in” feel of the fabric. The appearance of further slubs is also normal after wash and wear, and is a part of the natural character of the linen material.
The linen shirt will arrive with some slight creases and wrinkles. This is normal because the shirts have been washed once to remove the majority of shrinkage and the resulting wrinkles are a part of the natural characteristic of the linen material that enhances the casual, “lived in” feel. Ironing on a low heat whilst the shirt is still damp after wash helps minimise some of these wrinkles.
Colour will fade slightly and the fabric will become more supple with wash and wear over time, giving it a further “lived in” look that Japanese garment makers are famous for.
Wash Instructions:
Cold hand wash only.
Some shrinkage will occur after wash.
Water that is hot or even at slightly warm temperatures can cause significant shrinkage of the shirt. Please avoid washing at temperatures other than cold water.
Colour transfer could occur if contact is made with other objects, please take care when wearing.
Wash dark colours separately from white or light colours.
We recommend ironing on low heat when shirt is slightly damp after wash to minimise wrinkles.
Iron only on low heat, as ironing at high or medium heat could cause shining and/or shrinkage.
