This lookbook features wet weather styling with our superfine lambswool shawl collar cardigan in ecru.
When it is raining, we are sometimes asked how it is best to wear the superfine lambswool shawl collar cardigan as people fear it getting wet if worn as the outer layer.
Below, our friends show us how you can stylishly layer a coat or jacket over the top of the shawl collar cardigan despite it being a bulky garment. The trick is to wear a roomy jacket or coat, in a light to mid weight fabric (for example a generous parka is ideal). This way, the shawl collar cardigan acts as an insulating mid layer, with the coat/jacket as the outer waterproof shell. As the outer shell isn't too thick, you won't feel too bulky even though you have the chunky shawl collar cardigan underneath.
Parka/Raincoat over the Top

Trench Coat over the Top
Another great option is to layer a trench coat over the top. It's the same principle as the parka over the top, the idea being that you have a thin waterproof shell over the superfine lambswool shawl collar cardigan.

Wool Coat over the Top
If you have a wool coat with a generous fit, this also works over the top of the shawl collar cardigan - the wool coat generally being easier to dry if it gets wet.

Gilet over the Top
If it's only light drizzle out, you may choose to wear a waterproof down vest over the top for a lighter appearance. See below some examples of how the wool shawl cardigan pairs beautifully with sleeveless jackets and coats:
