Friends of Colhay's Lookbook: Denim with the Superfine Lambswool Shawl Collar Cardigan in Ecru

"Friends of Colhay's" is a series of lookbooks featuring our friends in the menswear community who have worn our knitwear in particularly stylish and creative ways that we think would make for wonderful styling inspirations to others.

This lookbook features denim with our superfine lambswool shawl collar cardigan in ecru.

Our superfine lambswool shawl collar cardigan in ecru goes particularly well with denim; the rugged texture of the wool pairing well with the rugged texture of denim. Colour-wise, blue/navy works really well with cream/white.

In this lookbook, we’re showcasing creative ways to incorporate the superfine lambswool shawl collar cardigan in ecru into denim-centric ensembles, featuring standout examples of casual, professional, and bold double-denim styles from our stylish community.

Casual Work Attire

Some examples of casual work outfits featuring denim and our superfine lambswool shawl collar cardigan in ecru. Below are great examples of "high-low" dressing where the wearer incorporates elements of formal wear (smart trousers, tie) with elements of casual wear (denim).

Daring Double Denim

We love the double denim look with our superfine lambswool shawl collar cardigan in ecru. There is an elegant yet masculine feel to the outfit and it is softened by the presence of the ecru of the chunky wool cardigan. Starsky and Hutch comes to mind.

The key with double denim is to try as far as possible to match the shade of the denim top with denim bottom (i.e. light wash denim shirt with light wash jeans that are similar/same colour).

With Black Jeans

Blue denim isn't the only option, as the ecru colour of the shawl collar cardigan also words with black or grey jeans, as shown below. It works because black and white work well together as opposites of the same colour family.

In the ensemble below the ecru shawl collar cardigan combines well with faded black jeans. This is then matched with a brightly coloured jumper to add interest:
