"Friends of Colhay's" is a series of lookbooks featuring our friends in the menswear community who have worn our knitwear in particularly stylish and creative ways that we think would make for wonderful styling inspiration for others.
This month, we're taking a closer look at how our favourite Colhay's pieces are worked into everyday outfits, proving that staying warm doesn't necessarily mean sacrificing style. It's all about subtle details, thoughtful combinations and timeless pieces worn with confidence.
1. Takumi, @new_takumi_oshima
Starting off strong with an outfit centred around our Cashmere Belmondo Rollneck in oatmeal, this look demonstrates a beautiful approach to layering and a fun way of combining patterns. The pairing feels effortless, creating a sense of ease while still looking thoughtfully put together. Takumi has mastered outerwear layering by styling a long khaki coat over a tweed jacket, to match the tweed trousers, adding depth and structure to the silhouette. Although the colour palette remains quite muted, there's plenty of detail to keep the overall look visually engaging. The outfit is finished perfectly with a pair of rich brown suede shoes and a green baseball cap.

2. Will, @thedonsclub
Will continues the theme of layered textures and mixed patterns, wearing our Superfine Lambswool Cricket Sweater over a checked flannel shirt, left slightly tucked to show off a brown leather belt. He keeps things relaxed with ripped blue jeans and suede boots, welcoming a pop of colour, before layering a long navy wool coat with a herringbone tweed lining to pull the look together. A burgundy cap thoughtfully ties everything together, echoing the V-neck colourway and adding a subtle sense of cohesion.
3. Shuhei, @shuhei_nishiguchi
Shuhei has put together a classic look, pairing our merlot Cashmere Ribbed Submariner Rollneck with tailored light grey pinstripe wool trousers. Refined accessories, including a mahogany brown leather belt and matching cowboy boots, add depth to the outfit. A dark brown aviator jacket ties everything together, creating an effortlessly elegant yet casual combination.
4. Takumi, @new_takumi_oshima
Takumi introduces a piece rarely seen in niche menswear - sweatpants. Although typically reserved for loungewear, grey sweatpants are reworked here, tucked into brown boots and styled with our Cashmere Belmondo Rollneck in oatmeal and a tweed blazer. A long green wool coat is layered over the top to pull the look together, with an ecru beanie and brown bag adding the final touches.
5. Will, @thedonsclub
Will plays with another way of layering here, introducing a double sweater moment in this look. A subtle combination of tailoring and casual wear. He mixes smarter pieces like a button up shirt and patterned tie with more casual staples such as jeans, a knit jumper and Chelsea boots, then throws on a suede blazer styled as outerwear. Our Cashmere Ribbed Submariner Rollneck in ecru is effortlessly draped over the shoulders, adding both warmth and a refined layer of style. To finish the look, Will echoes the suede blazer with a darker brown suede bag, tying the outfit together seamlessly.
6. Takumi, @new_takumi_oshima
Another great way to style the aviator jacket whilst the cold still lingers. Takumi styles our Cashmere Crew Neck in grey mélange over a white collared shirt, accessorised with a silk brown scarf to add warmth and personality. He keeps things grounded with black wide-fit cargo pants and brown leather Dr. Martens, striking the perfect balance between practical and put together.
7. Shuhei, @shuhei_nishiguchi
Shuhei returns to the Cashmere Ribbed Submariner Rollneck in merlot as the foundation of his outfit. Here, the richness of the knit is offset by, deeper, more muted tones, pairing it with a black leather jacket, charcoal wool trousers and black shoes. The contrast keeps the merlot knit in focus while giving the overall look a clean, understated edge.
8. Takumi, @new_takumi_oshima
Lastly, Takumi layers up with a warm, considered mix of textures and tones. Our merlot Submariner Rollneck sits neatly beneath a checked red vest and a tweed wool overcoat, paired with quilted trousers for a relaxed, functional feel. Finished with brown leather shoes, a canvas backpack and subtle accessories, the look strikes a balance between practicality and quiet refinement, feeling both lived-in and thoughtfully put together.
