Dark, rich, but muted, the browns we choose for our knitwear are designed to be versatile and look great with a variety of bottoms and other items of clothing. They pair well with jeans, chinos and greys, as well as a white and oat.
It’s a great base to use to put together an outfit with an oat/brown palette - something different to the safe navy and grey palette which a lot of people gravitate to.
In this article, we show you a few different ways that we would wear our brown knitwear, starting with how to combine with bottoms.
Brown knitwear with denim jeans - medium to dark wash
Because our brown knitwear is dark, it goes particularly well with medium to dark denim jeans.
Our superfine lambswool mock neck works particularly well with a regular straight leg medium pair of jeans with a Chelsea boot for that 70s Rolling Stones look:

Brown with oat
One of the most natural colour combinations is brown with oat. Below we have styled several of our brown knitwear with oatmeal to demonstrate this.

Brown with camel and terracotta
The other great combination is brown with other accent colours within the brown palette, such as camel, rust brown or orange, terracotta etc. This is great especially if you prefer to contrast the more matt brown colour with another item that "pops" a bit more. Some examples below.

Brown on brown (varied pattern/shade/texture)
Perhaps a path less trodden, but we also love a brown on brown combination - the crucial tenet is to ensure the two browns are a sufficiently different shade, and/or if your knitwear is a plain brown colour, wear something brown that is patterned with it. Some examples below.
Superfine lambswool mock neck in dark brown, mid brown check sport coat. The mock neck is a darker brown than the sport coat and the sport coat has a check pattern which further contrasts the plain brown colour of the mock neck:
