The sustainability of cashmere

Throughout much of the 20th century cashmere was a luxurious, and relatively rare purchase; a precious garment that would be kept in the family for generations. But over the past twenty years or so, cashmere has become a lot more ubiquitous and a lot cheaper – this comes at a cost, not just to the quality of the garment, but also the environment.
